I listened to a Podcast yesterday and it got me thinking.
Am I brand loyal or and I brand conscience?
What do I mean by this? Our modern day society is based on a system where we are marketed different products on a daily basis. It is everywhere.
We all have certain brands or products that we buy/prefer. You may like Crest over Colgate toothpaste. You my like Pizza Hut of Dominos.
How much do I know about the companies that I purchase their products or services?

We all have our own values that we implement on a daily basis (our own moral compass that guides how we live and make decisions).
What if you find out a company does not fall in-line with your values and morals? Would you stop buying their product? What if a company treats their workers terribly? What if you find out they are knowingly using chemicals that will harm you and our family, just so they can make a profit?
This is a task I think we all need to look at.
Here is what I mean by this (using me as the example).
We need a new vacuum for the house. So what company do I choose? Do I choose the cheapest to get the job done? Do I choose the most expensive? What are the parameters that I use to make my purchase?
Everyone goes through some sort of decision making process when we purchase an item. One thing that is missing is does the company align with my morals and values? Are they transparent on their mission and values as a company?
For me, it is important that a company show their impact on the planet and humanity. Do they show the source of their materials? Do they value their employees? Do they have an importance on reducing waste?
I am happy to say the company we chose does align with our values. They even donate part of the purchase price to saving shelter animals. They have saved over 400,000 shelter pets since 2018.
So to wrap my thoughts up. I am encouraging everyone to take a look at all the brands you use and ask yourself if the company aligns with your values. If they don't are you willing to give that company your hard earned money.
We can make a huge impact if we re-evaluate what companies we do business with. Don't just pick a product because you are brand loyal. If we start making these decisions as consumers companies will take stock and adjust accordingly.
